August-September police report includes several breakings and enterings
During August and September Bluffton police had 659 calls for service, according to the August and September police dockets. Here is a summary of those calls.
August 2016 - Total Calls for Service – 359

Officers responded to an apartment complex on East College Avenue in reference to a dispute among tenants.
Officers responded to an apartment complex on East College Avenue in reference to a medical complaint. Upon further investigation, officers located drug paraphernalia outside of one of the apartments.

Officers responded to a North Main Street business in reference to a menacing complaint.
Officers arrested Gina Luginbill, 33, Findlay, for Operating a Vehicle with an Expired License following a traffic stop on North Main Street for a speeding violation.

A construction worker reported a power washer was stolen from a construction site at the university.
Officers investigated a menacing complaint that occurred at a West Elm Street residence involving juveniles.

A university employee reported his bicycle was stolen while parked on a sidewalk at the university.
A South Main Street resident reported his bicycle was stolen from his front yard.

An East College Avenue resident reported a domestic dispute between her and her husband.
A concerned citizen contacted the Bluffton Police Department in reference to suspected animal neglect at a Vance Street business. Upon initial investigation it was determined that the Ohio SPCA be contacted for a formal investigation into the business. The Ohio SPCA’s investigation led them to a Greding Street residence which also became part of the investigation. Further investigation led to the removal of all animals from the business and the residence. Also assisting on scene was deputies from the Allen County Sheriff’s Office. The business has since been ordered to cease and desist operation by the Village of Bluffton.

A Cherry Street resident reported his semi-automatic handgun was stolen from his residence.

An East Jefferson Street resident reported his identity had been stolen.
A Vance Street business owner reported one of his company vehicle’s had been stolen by a former employee. Later in the evening, the stolen vehicle was reported in the area of Garmatter Street with the person who had taken it. Officers responded to the scene where they arrested Lee M. Brodman, 31, Bluffton, for Motor Vehicle Theft. The case is pending in Allen County Common Pleas Court.

Police arrested Rebecca Hasting, 36, Bluffton, for Driving Under Suspension following a traffic stop on West Elm Street. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.
Police arrested Jared Wentling, 19, Bluffton, for attempting to purchase a beer or intoxicating liquor at a North Main Street business with a fake ID. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.

A Garau Street resident reported his daughter and her friend stole his winning lottery ticket.

Officers responded to the 600 block of South Main Street in reference to a non-injury hit/skip traffic crash that possibly occurred during the overnight hours.

Officers arrested Demarcus L. Horton, 27, Toledo, on an outstanding warrant from Wood County following a traffic stop in the 400 block of State Route 103.

Officers arrested Amanda R. Poe, 33, Findlay, for Driving without an Expired License following a traffic stop on East Jefferson Street.
An employee of a State Route 103 business reported that someone was harassing him about his past.

Officers arrested Wisam Mohamed Brahim, 24, Jenera, for Driving Under Suspension following a traffic stop in the 300 block of North Main Street for an equipment violation.

A State Route 103 business reported someone had attempted to purchase items using counterfeit money.
A South Spring Street resident reported ongoing problems with her juvenile neighbor and his friends.

Officers responded to a non-injury traffic crash in the area of North Main Street and County Line Road. Joseph T. Palmer, 20, Bluffton, was issued a citation for Failure to Yield the Right of Way. The case is pending in Findlay Municipal Court.

Officers arrested Chadd Sigler, 36, Vaughnsville, for Driving Under Suspension following a traffic stop on West Elm Street.
Officers arrested Bryan M. Collin, 31, Bluffton, on an outstanding warrant from Allen County.

Officers responded to the university in reference to a complaint of breaking and entering and possible thefts. Officers were advised that multiple offices were broken into but it was unknown if anything was taken.
Officers responded a second time to the university in reference to a breaking and entering and theft from the bookstore where cash and clothing items were stolen during the overnight hours.
Officers responded to the area of East Jefferson Street and Thurman Street in reference to a non-injury traffic crash. Hunter D. Brodman, 17, Bluffton, was issued a citation for Assured Clear Distance Ahead. The case is pending in Allen County Juvenile Court.
