Boys' soccer: BHS stops Temple 3-1 for district title
Kalida hosted Bluffton Pirates and Temple Christian Pioneers for the District final on Saturday. Bluffton prevailed 3-1.
Scoring got started at 2 minutes when Pirate Luke Young crossed a ball to Eli Bourassa who buried it. The balance of the half saw a number of Bluffton build-ups, with Temple Christian rejections.
In the second half at minute 51 Temple Christian scored on a well place kick.
At the 72nd minute the Pioneers were called for a foul in the box and Tristian Smucker took the PK, sinking it over Temple Keeper DJ Clay. Then one minute later Tristan Smucker again got the ball to the net when he headed a crossing pass from Trevor Bunch.
Shots on goal for Bluffton: 14; for Temple Christian 2. Goal keeper saves: Levi Smith for Bluffton had one while DJ Clay had 10 saves for Temple Christian.
