Boys' soccer: Pirate season ends in a close one
Bluffton High School boys' soccer tournament ride ended Wednesday night in Tiffin.
In a Dvision III regional semi-final game, the Mansfield Christian HS Flames beat the Pirates, 2-0, ending their season.
Mansfield Christian’s goals both came off of Jared Mount. However, the first score at 11 minutes was a clearing kick by the Bluffton defense, which ricocheted off of Mount into the goal; the second half goal came on an alert shot with the Bluffton keeper out of the goal (53 minute).
Mansfield had three shots on goal and Bluffton also had three shots on. JP Trueblood, the MC keeper, had three saves while Eli Smith had two saves for Bluffton.
