BCE Friday Workshop focus on human resources for small business
Bluffton Center for Entrepreneurs launches BCE Friday Workshops, a series of free monthly programs focusing on issues involving small businesses.
The workshops follow the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce breakfasts on the second Friday of each month in the Bluffton town hall.
This month’s workshop at 8:30 a.m., Friday, Nov. 11, focuses on human resources.
The workshop title is “Top five human resource topics that could protect a small business owners’ bottom line.” Sally Siferd leads the workshop.
Since 1997, Siferd has been an HRCI certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR). While at Pry CPA Services, Findlay, she was vice president of administration and human resources and counseled the CPA firm's clients on human resource issues.
In 2002 she formed, HR House Call, LLC, consulting with small business clients on hiring, compensation, policies, terminations and much more. She is now on the staff of Bluffton University.
In the absence of an HR director at Bluffton, Siferd helped fill some of those duties and now assists the current director in a generalist role.
In January 2016, Sally earned the Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification. For more information about the workshop contact Fred Steiner, BCE director at [email protected].
