November 10, 2016
BLUFFTON, Ohio - Bluffton University senior Matt Hardman-Zimmerman (Forest City, Pa.) and freshman Ezekiel Davis (Columbus/Downtown) have been named All-Heartland Conference for their play in 2016. They were recognized when the HCAC announced its top players this season as voted on by the head coaches.
Matt Hardman-Zimmerman was named Honorable Mention All-Heartland Conference for the second straight season. The senior keeper finished second in the HCAC with 113 saves while compiling a .673 save percentage. His 287 saves are 7th all-time in the Bluffton career record book. Hardman-Zimmerman finished his time at Bluffton with two seasons of over 100 saves, both in the top 13 all-time.
Picking up Honorable Mention All-Heartland Conference recognition following his first season of collegiate soccer, Davis found himself in the starting lineup from day one. The talented freshman found the back of the net two times on just 13 shots with seven of those on frame (.538 SOG percentage). He notched both Bluffton tallies in the HCAC opener with Earlham.
In conjunction with the All-HCAC selections, the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference also announced the All-HCAC Sportsmanship Team for the fall of 2016. Senior BRANDON SPRADLING (Fairfield) was selected to the All-Sportsmanship Team from Bluffton. This award has been developed as part of a conference-wide sportsmanship initiative. Members of the All-HCAC Sportsmanship team are selected by the coaches and their teammates as individuals who demonstrate the ideals of positive sportsmanship both on and off the field/court of competition.
