Jon Kinn named manager of Chiles-Laman, Bluffton
Jon B. Kinn has been named manager of Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services in Bluffton according to an announcement by Bob Laman,
president, and Gordon Diller, secretary-treasurer.
Kinn is a 1993 graduate of Bluffton High School and 1997 graduate of Bluffton College. He has literally grown up with the company, having started by mowing lawns and washing cars in the summer of 1991.
After receiving his baccalaureate degree in management/marketing from BC, he
received his associate’s degree in mortuary science from Cincinnati College
of Mortuary Science in the fall of 1998. He lived and worked at a funeral
home in Newport, Ky., during his study there, then did his apprentice year
with Chiles-Laman in Bluffton where he has served since 1999.
Kinn is Bluffton fire chief, having served with the local fire department since 1999, moving through the ranks as lieutenant, then captain, and he became chief in early 2010. He also is on the board of directors of Chiles-Laman.
Diller, manager of the Bluffton funeral home since 1986, will continue to
assist Chiles-Laman under a reduced schedule.
