McComb superintendent Meri Skilliter accepts Ada superintendent post
Bluffton resident Meri Skilliter, McComb school superintendent, will be the new superintendent of Ada Exempted Village Schools replacing Dr. Suzanne Darmer.
On Dec. 21 Skilliter was offered a three-year contract at Ada starting Jan. 1, 2017, at $98,000 per year.
Darmer was Ada’s superintendent for the past 10 years and is retiring at the end of the year.
Skilliter, McComb’s superintendent since August 2013, is a previous teacher in the Bluffton school system.
Skilliter announced her departure from McComb School District through her blog on the school website.
In it she wrote:
“It is with truly mixed emotions that I announce my departure from the McComb School District as your Superintendent at the end of the calendar year. I have deeply loved my time here, with all of the challenges and triumphs it offered. I am a firm believer in God’s perfect timing, and feel he is calling me to this next chapter with the Ada Exempted Village Schools.
