University concert band performs Feb. 19
Bluffton University’s Concert Band will present the 2017 Winter Instrumental Concert at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 19, in Yoder Recital Hall. The event is free and open to the public.
The concert, under the direction of Roy Couch, director of bands, will include: “Songs of Paradise” a setting of hymns by the African-American composer Charles Albert Tindley, known as the father of African-American hymnody; “Kiwanisca” a march by Stephen Bulla; “Acrostic Song” by David del Tredici; “Songs of Wales” a collection of Welsh folk tunes set by Albert Oliver Davis; “From Whom All Blessings Flow” by Ed Huckeby and “Thrive” by Sean O’Loughlin.
