Free Silver Sneakers Classic class Friday AM at BFR
A free class of Silver Sneakers will be offered at 9:45 a.m., Friday, Feb. 10, at Bluffton Family Recreation.

It's part of this winter’s Keeping Active program of free activities. From Jan. 16 through Feb. 24 BFR offers free fitness, physical activity, nutrition and general wellness events for youth through seniors, according to Joseph Beagle, BFR director.
Here's this week's free programming schedule:
Monday - Feb. 6
• Aqua Zumba, Maple Crest pool, 5-6 p.m.
Tuesday - Feb. 7
• Free walking, 5:30 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Wednesday - Feb. 8
• Free walking, 5:30 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Thursday - Feb. 9
• Free walking, 5:30 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Friday - Feb. 10
• Open play, 11 a.m. - noon
• Walking challenge, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
• Silver Sneakers Classic Class 9:45 - 10:45 a.m.
Saturday - Feb . 11
• Walking, 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Here's a description of the Silver Sneakers Classic Class
offered Friday, Feb. 10:
The program is for older adults and involves regular physical activity.
Each class session lasts between 45 and 60 minutes.
The sessions not only force movement, but also help participants who have joint pain and arthritis issues. Sessions enable participants to strengthen bones and muscles, improve balance, reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, reduce stress and enhance mood.
The program is designed for older adults offered through Medicare health plans at no additional cost.
