Consider sponsoring a downtown flowerpot
Orders are now being placed for this summer’s downtown flowerpots.
According to Susie and Steve Stratton of Stratton Greenhouses, “This is our 11th year for providing the potted plants on Main Street.”

To make this happen the Strattons invite contributions to keep the program going. This year, like last year, the sponsorships are $125 per pot. If sponsored by Monday, March 27, the cost is $115 per pot.
The 24-inch flowering pots are placed along Main Street from the Bluffton Public Library to Jefferson Street. In addition, several replacement pots are created in the event that one may need to be replaced during the summer.
For the third year lamppost hayracks are also available, which is a $325 sponsorship. Up to 13 hayracks may appear on Main Street this year.
“We have tried to keep the cost down for the past few years. This sponsorship covers the cost of dirt, plants and fertilizers. Stratton Greenhouses has covered the cost of labor for watering the planters,” said Suzie.
Strattons will soon place the orders for the 2017 Main Street plants. Depending upon the weather, the flowerpots will be placed downtown from early to mid-May.
“We could not do this without the tremendous support of our community. People are always amazed when they find out how this program works.” she said.
She added: “In 2017 Bluffton is participating in the national awards program, America in Bloom. This will be a great time to show off the opportunities we have right here in Bluffton. We will be showcasing our cultural heritage, our environmental efforts, Bluffton’s great parks and urban forestry, as well as our floral displays and landscape design.”
Flowerpot donors will be recognize with a 3-by-5 inch slate plant marker in each pot with the person’s name on the marker.
Contributions may be used as a:
