STD testing planned at Allen County Public Health
Allen County Public Health will be having a special STD Testing Event Tuesday, March 28, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Allen County Public Health, 219 E. Market Street. Appointments are preferred, but walk-ins will be accommodated. To schedule an appointment for the event, call Allen County Public Health at 419-228-4457.
Tests will be available for Chlamydia, Gonorrhea and HIV. Birth control will also be available.
The special testing event is being held to help stop the spread of STDs. In 2016 the following numbers of STDs were reported to Allen County Public Health: Chlamydia – 660; Gonorrhea – 109; and HIV – 9. Chlamydia has seen a steady rise in numbers over the past three years, while Gonorrhea and HIV have seen a slight decrease.
