Wanda Boutwell was proprietor of Arthur’s Round Table Restaurant, Lima
Wanda M. Boutwell, 89, died at 6:45 p.m., March 28, 2017, at the Hilty Memorial Home in Pandora. Wanda was born on Jan. 2, 1928, in Paulding County, Ohio, to the late Ernest and Edith (Dotson) Claypool. On October 16, 1948, she married Willis “Bill” Boutwell who preceded her in death on March 6, 2012.
Wanda was the proprietor of Arthur’s Round Table Restaurant in Lima for 16 years. She then became an employee of the Phillips Manufacturing Company and shift manager of the Beaverdam Truck Plaza. Wanda was a member of the Riley Creek Baptist Church of Bluffton where she served as a treasurer for numerous years.
Survivors include three daughters, Gay Lee (Ken) Martin of Ellettsville, Indiana, Elaine (Bruce) Sommers of Delphos, and Patsy (Carey) Arthur of Pandora; eight grandchildren, Bryan (Candie) Burkholder, Chad (Kelly) Burkholder, Tiana Burkholder, Kristen (TJ) Lewis, Shawn (Natalie) Sommers, Chris (Sara) Sommers, Annie (Michael) Gill, and Amie (Nathaniel) Smith; 19 great-grandchildren, Madeleine, Meghan, Kyle, Sierra, Jada, Emileigh, Ellie, Cora, Blake, Brody, Colt, Savannah, Carli, Jace, Jonah, Ailey, Callie, Brinley and Elizabeth Ann.
Wanda was preceded in death by her three brothers, Gerald “Bud” Claypool, Harold Claypool, Robert Claypool; a step-brother, Cilemus “Buddie” Miller; two sisters, Rosemary Fleischmann, Thelma Brenneman; two step-sisters, Leona Cockerall, Judy Loimaugh; a son-in-law, James Burkholder and a granddaughter, Jennifer Leonard.
Services will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. Chaplain Rick Hart officiating. Burial will be in Hasson Cemetery, rural Jenera following the service. Visitation will be Saturday from 1 p.m. until time of the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hilty Memorial Home.
