Native American flutist to perform April 13
The public is invited to hear Native American flute music at the Bluffton Town Hall Concert Series Thursday, April 13 at 7 p.m. on the third floor of the Bluffton Town Hall. Performer Janice Trytten (Sunflower) is a Native flute player and as a professional horn player in the Cincinnati area.
Her earliest memory as a child in Oklahoma has her building tipis and making fabric "buckskin" dresses. Since the late 1980s she and family have attended and participated in many living history events, with focus primarily on the 1840s fur trade era. Native flute playing developed from the re-enactment experiences.
You will hear the sounds from long ago in her music and the calming feelings produced by the Native flutes.
There is no admission charge for this event, but a donation will be collected to pay the performer.
