ArtSpace/Lima spring show reception April 21
ArtSpace/Lima will host an opening reception for Spring Show 2017 on Friday, April 21, 6:30-8:30 p.m. The reception is free and open to the public.
Spring Show 2017 is the 62nd edition of ArtSpace’s signature exhibit.
Entries are accepted from within a 100-mile radius of Lima in the following categories: painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, ceramics, sculpture, textiles, digital art and mixed media. Entries juried in will be displayed in the Ellen Nelson Gallery. Additional works, not selected in the first round of jurying, but re-juried, will be on display in the Salon des refusés in ArtZone.
A total of 40 artists are represented in the exhibit: 75 works will be in the Ellen Nelson Gallery, 22 additional works will be in ArtZone in the Salon des refusés.
Awards totaling nearly $1,900 will be presented at 7:15 pm at the reception. Awards include the Jack Earl Award for Best of Show, First, Second and Third Awards, the Martha Farmer Award for Sculpture, the Bruce Chesser Award for Ceramics, The Photography Club Award for Photography, the Martha Gaustad Award for Drawing, and the Award for Painting.
Jurors for the Spring Show 2017 exhibit are: Sally Windle, Director of the Arts and Magnet Program in the Lima City Schools, and Douglas Fiely, Professor Emeritus at Defiance College.
ArtSpace/Lima is a not-for-profit arts organization with a mission to promote the arts in northwest Ohio and to provide artists with a venue to present and to sell their work.
