Madzia named HCAC Pitcher of the Week
April 24, 2017
BLUFFTON, Ohio - Bluffton University junior Jessie Madzia (Massillon/Tuslaw) was named the Heartland Conference Pitcher of the Week. It marks the third time this season that a Bluffton softball player has earned Player of the Week honors following Nicole Thomas (Tontogany/Otsego) and Brittany Huff (Clayton/Northmont).
Madzia went 1-1 with a perfect 0.00 ERA in 9.1 innings of work for the Beavers last week. She tossed a complete game,
allowing one unearned run for the week. The junior struck out four and held opponents to a miniscule .156 batting average.
The Beavers will host Manchester in a conference doubleheader on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m., before traveling to Rose-Hulman on Saturday for the
final regular season contests of the season.
