Big Bluffton weekend planned
Bluffton will be busy on Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday is the 46th annual arts and crafts show on Main Street. The Friends of the Library used book sale concludes, Bluffton Farmers’ Market is open in the morning and a bike rodeo for youth takes place at the Buckeye park.
And, on Saturday and Sunday is the Bluffton Soccer Club two-day tournament at Bluffton University.
Arts and crafts show
Main Street Bluffton will buzz with over 65 arts and crafts booths on Saturday. It’s the annual Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce event that fills Main Street with a fair atmosphere.
The show is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., rain or shine. Main Street will be closed from Elm Street to the Farmers’ Market on South Main.
In addition to arts and craft vendors several new additions are part of this year’s show.
• Pony rides are at the Main and Cherry Street intersection. Rides this year are free, sponsored by the Bluffton Hospital.
• Putt golf will be set up and play is also free. M & R Plumbing and Heating is the golf sponsor. Play takes along Cherry Street.
• Additional food vendors will be set up near the town hall. This year there will be five vendors.
Other traditional exhibits include the Hard Rock Llamas. They will be on Cherry and Main.
Farmers’ Market
Bluffton Farmers’ Market will be open from 8:30 a.m. to noon in the Citizens National Bank parking lot.
Friends of the Library used book sale
Friends of the Library will hold its annual spring book sale during crafts show hours. The sale is in the library.
Youth bike rodeo
Also taking place on Saturday is a Bluffton Police Department bike rodeo. It is held at the Buckeye park. The rodeo for youth takes place from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the park. All participants will receive a free bike helmet. In addition there will be a bike raffle.
Bluffton Soccer American Cup
Bluffton Soccer Club holds its two-day recreational and travel team soccer tournament at Bluffton University on Saturday and Sunday.
Ages are: travel U8 and U10, and travel and recreation U12, 15 and U19. Recreational and travel teams compete in separate divisions. Each team is guaranteed two games on Saturday in division play. Division winners continue onto semi-finals on Saturday and/or Sunday.
