High Intensive Interval Training, pickleball, tennis tourney in June at BFR
Bluffton Family Recreation announces several new activities for June. Watch the Icon for more details on each of these activities.
High Intensive Interval Training
Matt Gillett will offer a High Intensive Interval Training (HIIT) class for persons interested in advancing to a higher exercise level. The class schedule will be announced soon.
Pickleball
Pickleball begins with play at 9:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. This class is open to SilverSneaker members and non-members.
Pickleball is a racquet sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis and table tennis. Two, three, or four players use solid paddles made of wood or composite materials to hit a perforated polymer ball, similar to a wiffle ball, over a net.
The sport shares features of other racquet sports, the dimensions and layout of a badminton court, and a net and rules similar to tennis, with a few modifications.
Tennis tournament
Plans are underway for a singles and doubles tennis tournament scheduled to begin at 9 a.m., Saturday, June 17, at the Howe Tennis Courts on East College Avenue.
