Bluffton Public Library kicks off summer reading program June 5
Monday, June 5, is Library Fun Day.
It kicks off a two-month summer reading program at Bluffton Public Library.
"Every summer, the library’s goal is to encourage people of all ages to learn and grow throughout every stage of their lives. This summer’s theme is Build a Better World," said Jessica Hermiller, library director.
The events foster the theme to Build a Better World and are open to all library patrons of all ages.
During the kick off day patrons who register for the summer program may decorate the sidewalk with a “Build a Better World” chalk creation. Also plan to participate in games and activities going on throughout the library.
At noon, bring a sack lunch for an indoor library picnic, and stay to “touch a truck” featuring Bluffton’s Fire Department, Police Department and EMS vehicles from 12:30-1:30 p.m.
Toledo Zoo and Aquarium will present a program on the library’s lower level called “Animal Adaptations.”
Concluding Library Fun Day, summer storytime will have its first session, “All Around Town.”
Storytime is for pre-school children ages 3-5 on either Monday nights or Tuesday mornings (you choose which time you want to attend). You must register your child starting May 30. There are only 18 spots for each session.
The library continues to offer many regular programs and services, but the monthly calendar has grown considerably, with an addition of over 40 more events.
Patrons who register to participate in BPL’s summer program, automatically enter into the running for a variety of grand prizes and weekly incentives.
