Want to watch the Cavs play the Warriors in game 1 of the NBA finals on an 8-foot screen?
You can watch in Bluffton. It’s Thursday at 9 p.m. and the screen is at Southgate, 9700 Dixie Highway.
The Thursday night almost-as-good-as-being-there event launches a summer of activities at the bowling alley, according to Derek Dukes.
“We’ve talked about doing summer events and decided to give it a try this year,” he added.
Here’s the rest of the summer plan:
Thursdays - Brewery Tour League
Thursday evenings this summer marks the inaugural play for 15 doubles teams in the Brewery Tour League. The league runs from June 8 to July 27.
And, Thursday happy hours take place from 3 to 6 p.m. Southgate is open Thursdays until midnight.
Fridays – open bowling
Beginning on June 2 Southgate Lanes offers open bowling each summer Friday evening from 3 p.m. to midnight. Featured are 55-cent wings and periodic DJs and karaoke.
Third Saturday of June-July-August
Southgate Lanes Summer fest’
Summer fest’ takes places on the third Saturdays of June, July and August. These events are benefits to three local groups.
“All proceeds above our costs will go to the featured group of each month,” said Dukes.
Summer fest’ schedule:
• Saturday, June 17 – Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce
• Saturday, July 15 – Bluffton Diamond Sports
• Saturday, Aug. 19 –Bluffton Fire Department
Each summer fest’ is from 2 to 10 p.m. with all activities in the Southgate parking lot. Summer fest’ will include corn hole and other outdoor games.
A band will perform each evening from 6 to 9 p.m. “Next to Nothing,” is the featured band on June 17. Other bands will be announced later.
