Dorothy Hensel was a resident of Mennonite Memorial Home
Dorothy Crist Hensel, age 93, died on Tuesday, June 6, 2017, at 5:40 a.m. at the Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton.
She was born on Oct. 31, 1923, in Ft. Wayne, Indiana to Daniel E. and Glazel (Kline) Erwin and they preceded her in death. On July 14, 1941, she married Hobart L. Crist and he died on April 9, 1966. She later married Dennis Hensel on Sept. 19, 1981 and he died in March of 2002.
Dorothy retired from Kenton Savings Bank where she worked as a teller. She was a member of the Bethel Church of Christ, Ada.
Surviving are two sons: Thomas (Lynn) Crist of Arlington, Mike (Lachelle) Crist of Dunkirk; a daughter-in-law, Joyce Crist of Troy, Mich.; seven grandchildren: Kevin (Mandi) Crist, Kyle (Heather) Crist, Korey (Kerry) Crist, Brock Crist, London Crist, Jeff (Regina) Crist and Jason (Christa) Crist; 12 great grandchildren; two great-great granddaughters; and a brother-in-law, Bus Wirbel of Kenton.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jerry L. Crist; a brother, Robert Erwin; and a sister, Mary Wirbel.
Funeral services will begin at 11a.m. on Friday, June 9, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada.
Burial will be in Dunkirk Cemetery, Dunkirk.
Friends may from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 8, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada and until time of service on Friday at the funeral home.
