Douglas Parkins was a Beaverdam High School graduate
Douglas Parkins, 77, died Monday, June 26, 2017, at Lost Creek Care Center in Lima. He was born Sept. 27, 1939, in McComb to William and Katherine Parkins who preceded him in death.
Douglas graduated from Beaverdam High School and was a maintenance man at Ex-Cello in Bluffton for many years. He was an avid outdoors-man and hunter.
Survivors include two daughters; Joyce (Jim) Bochenek of Lima, Jill (Nick) Niece of New Bavaria, Ohio, seven grandchildren; Marissa (Josh) Kerr, Kirsten Niece, Hunter Niece, Adrienne Fuller, Seth Fuller, Brayden Bocheneck, Landon Bocheneck, six siblings; Ed (Lynn) Parkins, Carole (Tom) Stechschulte, Phillip Parkins, Becky Franck, Sharon Marshall, and Billy (Chris Van Schoyck ) Parkins.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Jon Parkins, and a sister, Wilma Parkins.
Services will be held Thursday, June 29, at 4 p.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton, with Pastor Jason Hinkle to officiate the service.
Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to The Humane Society.
