Legislation okayed to demolish structure at 145 W. Riley St.
Bluffton council intends to demolish a structure at 145 W. Riley St. after passing the first of three readings to that effect on Monday.
The resolution deems the structure to be insecure, unsafe and structurally defective.
According to Stephen Chamberlain, village solicitor, “The owner has had multiple opportunities to cooperate with the village and has not done so.”
He explained that the council intends to have three readings of the resolution. Demolition of the structure could take place as soon as 30 days following the third reading.
The second reading is anticipated on July 24 and the third reading on Aug. 14.
The ordinance is attached at the bottom of this story.
