Bluffton police administer Naloxone twice in two days

Four nighttime break-ins reported on July 3

Bluffton police had 477 calls for service in July with 31 reportable offenses and two traffic accidents, according to Tyler Hochstetler, Bluffton police sergeant. The July report follows:

July 2

  • Police arrested Amy J. Muniz, 41, Bluffton, for OVI following a traffic stop in the area of Cherry Street and Railroad Street. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.
  • Police responded to a Railroad Street residence in reference to a fight complaint.

July 3

  • Officers arrested Keaton L. Preston, 20, Ada, on an outstanding warrant out of the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office following a pedestrian stop in the 100 block of Commerce Lane.
  • A South Jackson Street resident reported that sometime during the overnight hours, an unknown subject/subjects entered their residence and stole items from inside while they were asleep.
  • A South Lawn Avenue resident reported that sometime during the overnight hours, an unknown subject/subjects entered her garage and stole items from inside a vehicle that was parked inside.
  • A South Main Street resident reported that sometime during the overnight hours, an unknown subject/subjects entered an unlocked vehicle parked at his residence and stole his wallet and change from inside the vehicle.
  • A Grove Street resident reported that sometime during the overnight hours, an unknown subject/subjects entered their residence and stole items from inside while they were asleep.

July 4

  • Police charged a young adult female with contributing to the delinquency of a minor following a short investigation, it was determined the young adult female had been using illegal narcotics with and around numerous juveniles. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.
  • Police responded to the 400 block of State Route 103 in reference to a car vs pedestrian traffic crash on private property. After an investigation into the incident, police identified the owner of the vehicle.

July 5

  • Police took a criminal damage complaint from a Garau Street business employee.
  • A Garau Street male was accused of inappropriately touching a female.

July 6

  • A Garau Street male was accused of inappropriately touching a female.

July 10

  • A Garau Street male was accused of inappropriately touching a female.
  • An Eastland Drive resident reported that sometime during the overnight hours, an unknown subject/subjects damaged her vehicle’s brake lines causing her vehicle to malfunction.
  • Police responded to a residence on County Road 15 for a drug overdose. After officers administered Naloxone, the subject was transported by ambulance to Blanchard Valley Medical Center in Findlay.

July 11

  • Police responded to a Riley Street residence in reference to a drug overdose. After officers administered Naloxone, the subject was transported by ambulance to Bluffton Hospital.

July 13

  • A South Main Street resident reported that, while her husband was out of the country visiting family, he had gone missing and did not come home when he was supposed to. After an investigation into the complaint, it was determined the male subject was safe and returning home the next day.

July 16

  • Officers attempted to check on a possible disabled vehicle on Interstate 75. Upon officers activating their overhead lights, the subject drove away from the scene and lead officers on a pursuit into Lima where the suspect was able to evade officers near Faurot Park.
  • Officers responded to a non-injury traffic crash involving a car vs dog in the area of the 300 block of County Line Road.

July 18

  • A Lausanne Avenue resident reported that while at the village park, his child was bitten by an unleashed dog.

July 20

  • A Pandora resident reported to police that while doing contracted work in Bluffton, an item was stolen from their jobsite.
  • Officers arrested James E. Slayter, 53, Bluffton, for driving under suspension following a traffic stop in the area of North Jackson Street and Jefferson Street. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.
  • Officers arrested Mlynn K. Jones, 19, Lima, for driving without a license following a traffic stop in the area of North Main Street and Lake Street for an equipment violation. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.

July 21

  • A South Main Street business reported that a juvenile was attempting to steal items from their store and wished the juvenile not be permitted back.

July 22

  • Officers arrested Leonard Bingham, 50, Lima, for driving under suspension following a traffic stop in the area of County Line Road and Lake Street for a speeding violation. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.
  • Officers arrested Scott Benroth, 52, Bluffton, for OVI following a traffic stop in the area of North Main Street and Riley Street for an expired license plate violation. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.

July 24

  • Police arrested Ashley T. Hardy, 29, Lima for driving under suspension following a traffic stop in the area of Snider Road and North Main Street for an equipment violation. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.
  • Police responded to a Cherry Street residence in reference to a deceased person.
  • A Riley Street resident reported a fraud complaint.

July 25

  • Officers responded to a non-injury traffic crash in the area of County Line Road and State Route 103. Yevgeniy V. Shekochikhin, 28, Bluffton, was issued a citation for failure to yield the right of way. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.

July 26

  • Police responded to a Railroad Street residence in reference to a domestic violence complaint. After investigating the incident, officers arrested the primary aggressor and she was taken to the Allen County Justice Center to await her initial appearance in court. The case is pending in Allen County Common Pleas Court.
