Jan Basinger, Bluffton’s EMS chief, said that the local squad needs additional Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs).
“It’s becoming more difficult to get four persons on a call,” he told The Icon. “This is a great time for someone interested in becoming an EMT to talk with us about joining Bluffton’s squad.”
He said that the Bluffton EMS will pay for a person’s training at Apollo Career Center. The school lasts six months and takes place two nights a week.
Bluffton EMS holds a monthly meeting and training session once a month. EMTs must be 18, are required to be high school graduates or have a GED and live within one mile of Bluffton.
For more information contact Basinger at 419-358-2066, (town hall), extension 293.
