Dorothy Holt was a Bluffton HS graduate
Dorothy J. Holt, 95, died at 11:15 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 17, 2017, while residing at the Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton, Ohio.
She was born Oct. 22, 1921, in Columbus Grove, to Monroe and Elvina (Amstutz) Burkholder. On June 10, 1942, she married Wayne L. Holt, who preceded her in death on Dec. 1, 2009. They were married 67 years.
She was a graduate of Bluffton High School. Dorothy was a member of the Cable Road Alliance Church and had been a member of the Columbus Grove Christian Church for many years.
Dorothy is survived by two sons: Dwaine (Leslie) Holt of Lima and Robert (Karlyn) Holt of Bluffton; a daughter: Ann (Steve) Miller of Lima; 8 grandchildren: Kristen Holt of San Antonio, TX, Jennifer (William) Cole of Prosper, TX, Timothy Holt of San Ramon, CA, Sarah (Jared) Lehman of Bluffton, Rachel (Andrew) Terlecky of Granville, Bryant (Kim) Miller of Greensboro, NC, KeriAnn (Kyle) Wiechart of Lima and Jenna (Patrick) Bailey of Lebanon, IN; 12 great grandchildren: Ethan and Daniel Cole, Jacob and Eli Lehman, Max, Mikah and Malachi Miller, Samuel and Grace Bailey and Paul Terlecky; and 3 sisters in-law: Alice Burkholder of Columbus Grove, Erma Meyer of St. Marys and Gladys Holt of Lima.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Herbert and Ralph Burkholder and a sister, LaVerne Witteborg.
Visitation will be 1 - 3 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017, at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove.
Following visitation on Saturday, services will begin at 3 p.m., with Chaplain Bill Herr officiating. Burial will follow at Cairo Eastside Cemetery.
