Food pantry cupboards are nearly bare

The Bluffton Area Food Pantry has distributed food and other essential supplies to approximately 50 area families this summer.

The pantry’s supplies are running a bit low and could use some reinforcements, according to Ed Yeager, board president of the Bluffton Community Assistance Program.

Item may be delivered to St. John’s United Church of Christ.

Here is a list of items the food pantry welcomes as donations:
• Lotions and Creams
• Hair care products – shampoo
• Deodorant
• Soft soaps
• Paper products
     Tissues
     Toilet paper
     Paper towels
     Napkins
     Paper Plates
• Personal items:  toothbrushes, combs, brushes
• Breakfast cereal
• Instant oatmeal
• Macaroni and Cheese
• Chunky soups
• Crackers
• Tomato sauce
• Spaghetti and spaghetti  sauce
• Chili Beans
• Baked Beans
• Peanut Butter
• Noodles
• Rice and Riceroni items
• Canned fruit
• Canned
• Condiments:  catsup, mustard, mayo
• Hamburger helper and similar meals
• Tuna
• Tuna helper
• Baking items:  Brownies, cookies, cakes
• Taco and Mexican food products:  tortillas, sauces,
• Beef Ramen Noodles

“The pantry is grateful to the Bluffton community and churches for being willing to pitch in and help out when help is needed,” said Yeager.
