Penny Mumma was a 1966 Bluffton High School graduate
Penny E. (Amstutz) Mumma, 69, of Ada, Ohio, died Friday, Sept. 29, 2017, at Lima Memorial Health System, with her family at her side after a lengthy illness.
Penny was born on March 12, 1948, in Bluffton, Ohio, the daughter of Carl L. and LaVaun B. (Weaver) Amstutz, both of whom preceded her in death.
Penny married Ray F. Mumma on March 16, 1968, and he survives in Ada.
She attended Beaverdam Elementary-High School Beaverdam and graduated from Bluffton High School, Bluffton in 1966.
Surviving are three children, Amy L. (Nathan) Reedy of Toronto, Canada, Matthew F. (Angel) Mumma of New Albany, and Karen L. (Eric) Vermillion of Hartland, Mich.
Also surviving are grandchildren: Andrew Hughes, Aidan Shook, Emily Reed, Emerson Mumma, Nathan Vermillion, Ashley Vermillion and Sarah Vermillion.
Two sisters preceded her in death, Miriam and Sandra.
Penny and Ray were planning their 50th wedding anniversary celebration to be with their family.
She was an accomplished decorative artist and was the owner of "Paintings by Pen"; doing commission paintings and attending numerous area craft shows/festivals with her art. Penny was known by some as "The Christmas Ornament Lady."
Per her wishes there will be no public visitation and a private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
She will be buried in Woodland Cemetery, Beaverdam.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation in Penny's memory are made the Ada Food Pantry, P.O. Box 206, Ada, Ohio 45810.
