Counterfeit bills among Bluffton PD September calls
Bluffton police dealt with a report of conterfeit money, possession of controlled substances, a hit-skip accident, and other calls during September, according to Tyler Hostetler, police sergeant.
In September the police had 451 calls for service including 21 reportable incidents and 9 traffic crashes. The monthly docket follow:
September 1
- Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Cherry Street in reference to a dog complaint.
September 2
- A Greding Street resident report suspicious activity on his credit card account.
September 4
- Officers responded to an East Jefferson Street residence in reference to a domestic violence complaint.
September 5
- Officers responded to Bluffton University in reference to a student making suicidal threats.
September 6
- A State Route 103 resident reported that an ex-boyfriend had violated a temporary protection order violation.
- A South Jackson Street resident reported a package that was delivered to his residence was stolen sometime during the same day.
September 7
- Officers responded to the intersection of South Main Street and Poplar Street for a non-injury traffic crash. Shyanne E. Mortimer, 16, Bluffton, was issued a citation for assured clear distance ahead. The case is pending in Allen County Juvenile Court.
- Officers responded to the area of Bentley Road and Gratz Road for a non-injury traffic crash involving a vehicle and a deer.
September 9
- Officers arrested Adam Sweigart, 27, Bluffton, for driving under suspension following a traffic stop in the area of County Line Road near College Avenue for an equipment violation. The case is pending in Findlay Municipal Court.
September 9
- Officers arrested Kevin Burwell, 40, Sylvania, Ohio, for driving under suspension following a traffic stop in the area of Jefferson Street and Huber Street. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.
September 10
- A Matterhorn Drive resident reported a suspicious person in the area of their home.
September 11
- Officers responded to Bluffton Middle School in reference to an unruly student.
September 12
- Officers responded to the 200 block of Cherry Street in reference to a dog running at large.
September 13
- A Cherry Street resident reported ongoing issues with neighbors.
September 14
- Officers responded to the intersection of State Route 103 and County Line Road for a non-injury traffic crash. Talley C. Sanna, 70, Fostoria, was issued a citation for assured clear distance ahead. The case is pending in Findlay Municipal Court.
- Officers responded to the intersection of Cherry Street and Huber Street for a non-injury traffic crash. Abbey N. Gambrell, 17, Bluffton, was issued a citation for failure to yield at a stop sign. The case is pending in Allen County Juvenile Court.
September 18
- A Commerce Lane business reported they received counterfeit money sometime during their operating hours.
- Officers arrested Logan A. Shepherd, 24, Rawson, for driving under suspension following a traffic stop in the 900 block of North Main Street for a speeding violation. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.
September 20
- Officers responded to the intersection of North Main Street and Washington Street for a non-injury traffic crash. Betty J. Flinn, 78, Bluffton, was issued a citation for failure to yield at a stop sign. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.
September 21
- Officers responded to the area of College Avenue near Harmon Road for a non-injury traffic crash. Kyle Bassitt, 23, Elida, was issued a citation for nuisance operation and reasonable control. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.
September 22
- Officers arrested Andrew Reed, 18, Vanlue, Ohio, for possession of a controlled substance following a traffic stop in the area of Jefferson Street and Huber Street. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.
September 24
- Officers arrested Donald P. Kanney, 50, Lafayette, Ohio for driving under suspension following a traffic stop in the 400 block of North Main Street for a registration violation. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.
- Officers responded to the 200 block of South Lawn Avenue for a non-injury hit/skip traffic crash. There is no information about the suspect vehicle at this time.
September 27
- Officers responded to the 100 block of Riley Street in reference to a homeowner interfering with the demolition of a structure that was deemed uninhabitable by the village. After numerous attempts to resolve the situation, the homeowner left the area.
- Officers arrested Jamie S. Goodluck, 38, Lima, for driving under suspension following a traffic stop in the 100 block of Snider Road. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.
- Officers arrested Terry Follas, 49, Lima, for driving under suspension following a traffic stop in the 300 block of State Route 103. The case is pending in Findlay Municipal Court.
- Officers responded to the area of State Route 103 and Pocono Drive for a non-injury traffic crash. Marshall T. Benson, 18, Dola, was issued a citation for failure to yield the right of way when turning left. The case is pending in Findlay Municipal Court.
September 28
- Officers responded to the intersection of South Main Street and Garau Street for an injury traffic crash. Robert A. Greeno, 86, Findlay, was issued a citation for failure to yield the right of way when turning left. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.
September 30
- A South Main Street resident reported that someone had intentionally damaged his vehicle.
