Senior association recognizes Russel Suter and Harley Steiner
The Bluffton Senior Citizens Association will recognize life-long area residents, Russel Suter and Harley Steiner in November. Both association members turn 90 this month and both will receive life memberships in the organization, according to Tonya Meyer, director.
Their recognition is at 6 p.m., Monday, Nov. 13, at the Center, 132 N. Main St., during this month’s dinner meeting.
During the meeting members will recognize 26 members who died from last November to the end of October. The list of members is in the newsletter attached to this story.
Also, members will have an election of new board members. Those people are Harlan Basinger, Olwen Pritchard, Sharon Hamilton and Larry Core.
Other November events
• Christina Schroeder of Healthe Habits for Living, will provide a free lunch and learn at noon, Tuesday, Nov. 12. The program will focus on fitness and well-being and the ability to cope with everyday activities. Reservations are required at 419-358-8971.
• The first batch of this year’s peanut brittle will be made Monday, Nov. 6. Watch for more details on the Icon.
• The Christmas garage sale is Friday, Nov. 10, from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 11, from 9 a.m. to noon.
