Ada prepares for 2nd annual Super Bowl Eve party
FROM ADA ICON - It doesn’t matter who wins this year’s NFL Super Bowl.
Everyone wins at the party in Ada on Super Bowl Eve. It’s Saturday, Feb. 3. The party is the second annual Made in Ada Wilson Football Festival.
Meanwhile, Super Bowl LII takes place in U.S. Bank Stadium, Minneapolis, Minn.
Ada’s Feb. 3 festival celebrates Ada’s Wilson Football Factory, sole supplier of footballs for the NFL, and Ada as the football-making Capital of the World.
Like last year, the event ends with a large football drop at midnight in the Ada railroad park.
Here’s a tentative outline of this year’s festival activities leading up to the football drop. Unless otherwise listed, all events take place in the Main Street, Ada, railroad depot park area:
• 4:30 p.m. – Festival headquarters opens
• 4:30 p.m. – Center on Central opens for indoor tailgating
• 4:30 p.m. – Pre-game analysis with coaches and local football experts, ONU Bear Cave
• 5 p.m. – Outdoor tailgating begins
• 6 p.m. – Free showing of movie “The Draft,” staring Kevin Costner, Ada Theatre
• 7:30 p.m. – Greg Fox, MC of evening’s activities, introducing the evening schedule
• 7:30 p.m. on – Several games, Wilson football raffles and other events take place
• 11:30 p.m. – Grand drawing of two Super Bowl LII game balls
• 11:58 p.m. – Two-minute warning for football drop
• 11:59:30 p.m. – 30-second countdown begins for football drop
