Rameshwar P. Vohra was born in India in 1930
Rameshwar P. Vohra, 87, died Dec. 13, 2017, at 9:09 p.m. at his residence.
Ramesh was born Jan. 30, 1930, in Lylapur, India, to the late Pheraya Lal and Leeladevi Vohra who preceded him in death. He was raised by his father and step-mother Dayawanti Prakash Vohra. On June 2, 1956, he married Sunita Rani Vohra who preceded him in death on Dec. 4, 2016.
Rameshwar worked as an engineer in communications and signal machines. He later became a businessman in jewelry and furniture and then retired in 1990.
Survivors include a son, Praveen (Meena) Vohra of Bluffton, two daughters, Neeta (Arun ) Kuba, Mini (Vibhas) Kaila both of India; four grandchildren, Sahaj Vohra of Bluffton, Kunal (Monica) Kuba, Sukriti Kuba both of India and Divanansh Kaila of India; a great-granddaughter, Vihana Kuba of India.
Also surviving are four nephews, Sanjay (Geeta) Girota of Celina, Jitender (Rooma) Dua of Wauseon, Rajan (Laval) Kapoor of India, Tony Chatrath of Canada; six brothers, Ved P. Vohra, Prem P. Vohra, Susheel P. Vohra, Bebi P. Vohra, Vijay P. Vohra, Rajesh P. Vohra and their families all of India; two sisters Ms. Kanta Chopra and Ms. Rita Malhotra and their families all of India; a cousin Ajay (Vanita) Vohra of Washington Court House; and a close relative Nand L. (Santosh) Girotra of Celina.
Rameshwar was preceded in death by two older brothers Om P. Vohra and Sooraj P. Vohra whose families still reside in India.
Private services will be held at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services in Bluffton.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
