John Patterson was machinist at Gasdorf Tool, Lima
John Lewis Patterson, 54, died Dec. 18, 2017, at Lima Memorial Health System. John was born Jan. 7, 1963 in Lima to John and Barbara (Kohli) Patterson. On Aug. 27, 1982, he married Rachelle "Shelly" (Deerhake) Patterson who survives in Bluffton.
John graduated from Allen East High School and retired as a machinist at Gasdorf Tool in Lima. He was a member of the County Line Church of the Brethren where he played drums in the praise and worship band. John also sang in the Kings Glory Quartet.
Survivors also include his mother, Barbara Patterson of Lima; two sons, John L. Patterson of Bluffton, Jacob (Angie) Patterson of Mt. Cory; three granddaughters, Jaylin and Alaina Patterson, Taylor Guthrie; three brothers, Chuck (Angie) Patterson of Beaverdam, Joe (Kim) Patterson of Lakeview, Larry Patterson of Lima; and three sisters, Deb (Eric) Helms of Lafayette, Diane Clark of Lima and Dolly Patterson of Lima.
John was preceded in death by his father, John Patterson and a brother, Alan Patterson.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 21, at County Line Church of the Brethren near Ada. Pastors Tom Dearth and David Thompson officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, Dec. 20, from 6 - 8 p.m. at the church.
