Delores Moyer was a middle school special ed teacher at Leipsic for 22 years
Delores M. Moyer, 78, died Jan. 22, 2018, at Hilty Memorial Home, Pandora.
Delores was born Dec. 23, 1939, in Bluffton, Ohio, to Waldo and Glenna (Stewart) Hanna who preceded her in death. On June 13, 1965, she married Burl "Jerry" Moyer who preceded her in death on Feb. 21, 2016.
Delores graduated in the class of 1957 from Cory-Rawson High School. She then received a two-year teaching degree from Otterbein University. Delores graduated from Ohio Northern University with a Bachelor's degree. She completed her studies at Bowling Green State University, where she received her Master's degree.
Delores was a middle school special education teacher at Leipsic Middle School for 22 years. After her retirement, she worked as a substitute teacher for surrounding area schools.
Delores was a member of Putnam County Retired Teachers Association, Gathering Basket Herb Society, and Bluffton Senior Citizens. She was also a member of Pleasant View United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school and was the church secretary for several years.
Survivors include a son, Karl (Ann) Moyer of Anderson, Indiana; two sisters, Mildred (Elwood) James of Mt. Cory, Carolyn May of Elyria; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Friday, Jan. 26, at 11 a.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton, with Rev. Ben Lowell officiating. Burial will be in Clymer Cemetery near Mt. Cory following the service. Visitation will be Thursday from 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant View United Methodist Church.
