A close shave
The Bluffton University baseball team will once again go bald for a cause during a fundraiser for the non-profit Vs. Cancer.
A head-shaving event, featuring several baseball players and their supporters, will be held from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 27 in the Commons at Marbeck Center. This is the seventh year the baseball team has raised money for the charity, and it is the team’s largest community service project.
The team’s goal is to raise $8,000 for the Vs. Cancer foundation this year. Half of the money will go to childhood cancer research. The other half will go to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus. Over the years, the team has raised more than $50,000 for cancer research and patient programs.
Stylists from the Curling Iron in Bluffton will once again donate their time, talent and razor blades.
The Vs. Cancer Foundation is a non-profit dedicated to saving kids’ lives by empowering athletes and communities to fund life-saving childhood cancer efforts.
