Among February's police docket

Stolen Bluffton vehicle abandoned in Perrysburg; assault complaint; power pole fire

Bluffton Police Department released its February Docket, which follows:

February 1

  • Officers arrested John W. Deaton, 43, Rockford, for driving under suspension following a traffic stop in the area of State Route 103 and Interstate 75 for a registration violation. During the same incident, officers also arrested Rebecca Purtee, 42, Rockford, for wrongful entrustment. Both cases are pending in Findlay Municipal Court.

February 2

  • A North Main Street business reported one of their vehicles was stolen. Upon further notice, it was determined that an employee of the business was using the vehicle and had obtained permission to use the vehicle from the business owner.

February 4

  • Officers responded to the municipal parking lot for a power pole on fire. During the fire a vehicle was damaged.

February 6

  • Officers responded to the village park for a vehicle that slid off the roadway.
  • Officers responded to the municipal parking lot for a hit/skip crash.

February 9

  • Officers responded to a Citizens Parkway business in reference to a semi-truck that was stuck in the grass and parking lot area.
  • A Cherry Street resident reported a telephone annoyance complaint to police.

February 10

  • Officers responded to a Harmon Road residence in reference to a drug overdose.

February 19

  • A North Main Street resident reported an assault at the residence.

February 20

  • Officers arrested Richard A. Schofield, 34, Findlay, for OVI and driving under suspension following a traffic stop in the area of Interstate 75 and State Route 103 for a stop sign violation. The case is pending in Findlay Municipal Court.
  • Officers responded to a non-injury car/deer crash in the 9000 block of County Road 15.

February 21

  • Officers responded to the 100 block of Cherry Street in reference to a non-injury traffic crash. John R. Koontz, 75, Bluffton, was issued a citation for improper starting and backing. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.

February 22

  • A Quarry Driver business reported a vehicle had been stolen sometime during the overnight hours. The Ohio State Highway Patrol located the vehicle near Perrysburg.

February 25

  • Officers arrested Joshua Schoonover, 29, Findlay, for driving under suspension following a traffic stop in the 200 block of South Main Street for an equipment violation. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.

February 26

  • Officers took an assault complaint from a South Main Street business.
  • Officers were notified of a possible family violence situation. The case is still under investigation.
  • A Cherry Street business turned a fraudulent check into police that was turned into them.
  • A former Bluffton resident reported a civil matter to police.
  • Officers investigated a report of a suspicious person in the North Main Street area.

February 27

  • Officers arrested Ronald R. James, 18, Twinsburg, on an outstanding warrant out of the Bowling Green post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

February 28

  • Officers arrested Dacora J. Simpson, 19, Lima, for driving under suspension following a traffic stop in the area of Bentley Road and Interstate 75 for a stop sign violation. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.
