Michael Giovinazzo 1933 - 2018
F. Michael Giovinazzo, 84, died at 3:05 a.m., March 5, 2018, at Kindred Hospital in Lima. Mike was born May 8, 1933, in Lima to the late Dominic and Teresa (D'anna) Giovinazzo. He was a brother to Frank, Jim, Angie Adams, Teresa Swarner and Nick Giovinazzo, who preceded him in death.
Mike is survived by his first wife, Patsy (Manahan) Giovinazzo of Bluffton, and his current wife, Nora (Patton) Giovinazzo of Tavares, Florida. He is survived by daughters Debbie (Dan) Garlock and Kelly Giovinazzo both of Bluffton; grandsons, Paul and Patric Garlock; step granddaughters Jessica and Gayle Garlock and a granddaughter Tori Holcomb. Mike is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
As a member of the 1951 class of St. Rose Catholic School in Lima, Mike was a member of the 1951 state championship baseball team. It was one of his proudest accomplishments (proven by his STCHP51 license plate) along with being inducted with the team into the LCC Hall of Fame.
He spent his work career as a computer operator at Westinghouse Electric. It was this profession that earned him a spot on the TV show "What's My Line?" in 1974.
Mike was a former member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Lima, St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bluffton, and currently attended County Line Church of the Brethren near Harrod.
Services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. Pastor Tom Dearth officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from noon - 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Rose 2015 Parish Capital Campaign.
