Soup's up!
Maple Crest Senior Living Village will host a Soup Cook Off and Silent Auction on Thursday, March 8, 4:30-6:30 p.m. in the lower-level patio room of the main building.
The public is invited to sample gourmet soups prepared by local restaurants and caterers, such as:
• Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice, Luke’s Bar & Grill, Bluffton;
• Butternut Squash, Jeanne’s Kitchen, Bluffton;
• Baked Potato, Henry’s, Ottawa;
• Chili, Bluffton Senior Citizen’s Center;
• Beef Stew, Campito Lindo, Bluffton;
• Cream of Ham & Potato, The Rowdy Rooster, Columbus Grove and
• Sweet Potato Corn Chowder, Touches from the Heart, Glandorf.
The silent auction will feature pieces created by area artists, including pottery, handmade jewelry, wood carvings, hand-quilted items and more. Minimum bids will be set for each item.
Artwork will be on display in the lobby area of Maple Crest beginning Monday, March 5 and bids will be accepted until 6 p.m. during the Soup Cook Off when winning bidders will be announced.
The meal includes soup/s, salad, breadsticks, beverage and dessert. Cost is $7/person for adults and $3 for children age 5 and under. Proceeds will benefit the hair salon construction at Maple Crest.
