Betty Karhoff was a former Bluffton resident
Elizabeth Louise (Betty) Karhoff, 90, formally of Bluffton, Pandora, and Leesburg, Florida, died on March 4, 2018, at 12:38 pm at Lima Rehab & Nursing Center.
Betty was born Sept. 29, 1927, in Delphos, to Albert and Elnora (Weichart) Schmersal who preceded her in death. On June 7, 1947, she married Alphonse R. Karhoff who preceded her in death on July 31, 1999.
Betty retired from GTE/ Sylvania / Philips, Ottawa, Ohio, in 1983. She enjoyed her retirement in Leesburg, Florida until she returned to Ohio in 2004, to be near her family.
Survivors include her three children, Sandra (Roger) Hoffman, Michael Karhoff, Deborah (Dan) Haughn; nine grandchildren, and twenty great-grandchildren.
Betty is preceded in death by a son, Charles R. Karhoff; three siblings, Eugene Schmersal, Marcile Clement, and Helen Swaney.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will be at St. Anthony Cemetery, Columbus Grove.
