Jerry Amstutz was member of Lima Memorial Hospital security department
Jerry L. Amstutz, 75, died April 30, 2018, at Lima Memorial Health System. Jerry was born Feb. 11, 1943 in Lima to the late Oliver and Clara (Wilson) Amstutz. On June 30, 1962, he married Shirley Staley Amstutz who survives.
Jerry graduated from Lafayette-Jackson High School. He was a special deputy with the Allen County Sheriff's Office and also worked security at Lima Memorial Hospital. Jerry was a member of Bethel Church of Christ near Ada.
Survivors also include a daughter Tonya (Bill) Smith of Lima; two grandchildren, Cody and Elayna Smith; two brothers, John (Edna) Amstutz of Shepherd, Michigan, Jack Amstutz of Harrod; two sisters, Jean Ann Stratton of Ada and Dolly (Ronald) Beach of Beaverdam.
Jerry was preceded in death by a brother, James Ralph Amstutz; and two sisters, Joan Shanks and Beverly Porter.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, May 4, at Bethel Church of Christ near Ada. Pastor Randy Allen officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Beaverdam. Visitation will be Thursday from 2 - 8 p.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Church of Christ.
