BHS track results: Gambrell onto regional finals
By Sam Brauen www.blufftonpirates.com
(TIFFIN) - Senior Abbey Gambrell advanced to the Regional Finals on Friday in the 300 hurdles. Gambrell was the only Pirate to advance out of Wednesday’s meet.
Kaleb Jefferson continued to best his own record in the discus Wednesday, throwing a career best 146-10. The toss was good for sixth place overall. The senior will be back in action Friday as he competes in the high jump. Jefferson made the State Meet in that event last season.
The boys 4x800 team of Asher Antrim, Luke Young, Baylor Garmatter and Simon Derstine finished sixth.
The girls 4x800 team of Kayla Kindle, Sydney Hoff, Olivia Burner and Clara Mathews also placed outside the top four.
Several more Pirates will look to punch their ticket to Columbus Friday. The meet will feature Jackson Steinmetz and Sydney Hoff running the 3200, Asher Antrim in the 1600, with Kayla Kindle and Baylor Garmatter in the 800. Arielle O’Neal will throw discus along with Jefferson in the High Jump and Gambrell in the 300 hurdle finals.
