Dorothy Montgomery 1927 - 2018
Dorothy C. Montgomery, 91 of Ada, died June 1, 2018 at VanCrest of Ada. Dorothy was born May 19, 1927, in Mt. Blanchard, Ohio, to the late Walter and Gail (Foreman) Gatchell. On June 15, 1952, she married Robert Montgomery who preceded her in death on June 25, 2009.
Dorothy was a farm wife and had worked at Fiber's (now Findlay Industries). She was a member of Bluffton Trinity United Methodist Church where she was active with the Ladies Missionary group.
Survivors include a daughter, Marsha (Steve) Nesler of Findlay; three sons, Walter (Janis Badertscher) Montgomery of Bluffton, Brian (Rita) Montgomery of Bluffton, Mark (Stacy) Montgomery of Jenera; 10 grandchildren, Emily (Ted) Nesler, Kyle Nesler, Olivia (Bryson) Bellow, Maureen (Dustin) Riedel, Celeste Montgomery, Walter Bo Montgomery, Jonathan (Elizabeth) Montgomery, Adam (Rachel) Montgomery, Samantha Montgomery, Jarrett Montgomery; six great grandchildren, Audree, Tydus, Madison and Gabrielle Montgomery, Benjamin Bellow, Sophia Lange and a sister in law, Colene Gatchell of Findlay.
Dorothy was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Gatchell and David Gatchell; and two sisters, her twin, Doris Risser and Virginia Williams.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 6, at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. Pastor Wade Melton officiating. Burial will be in Thompson Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bluffton Trinity United Methodist Church.
