Did you have a great 4th of July?

Do you have your plans made for a relaxing rest of July?
   • Patio furniture ready?
   • Sunscreen out?
   • Grill fired up?

The 4th of July usually means pool parties, boat rides, BBQs, and relaxation.

So, how do you eat healthy amidst all the hot dogs, chips and ice cream?

First step is to practice mindful eating. “Mindful eating is a technique that helps you gain control over your eating habits. It has been shown to cause weight loss, reduce binge eating and help you feel better”

When was the last time you actually sat down and ate a meal without looking at your phone, watching TV or reading something? Most of us rush through our meals without even sitting down! This can lead to eating too much (unhealthy foods).

Take this short quiz and find out whether you are a mindful eater or not……

So, as you are relaxing in July, don’t let the fireworks be the only thing that sparks. Take the opportunity to allow July to spark some new healthy eating habits for you and your family. Bring a salad or some fruit to that BBQ (who knows?! Someone may actually like it;) AND practice some mindful eating as you relax by the pool.
