Honor flight program, K-9 visit, lecture on oil boom
Bluffton Senior Citizen Center will be busy in August.
There’s everything from food tours, honor flight program and a visit from Bluffton Police Department’s K-9 officers, Kato, and his handler, Tyler Hochstetler. There’s also a history lecture on the Oil Boom.
Here’s a summary of some of the August events. The August newsletter is attached at the bottom of this story.
The monthly dinner meeting is at 6 p.m., Monday, Aug. 13, Dianne “Cookie” Cook, will share her experiences on Honor Flight.
George McCune will celebrate his 90th birthday and will receive his life membership to the Association.
Tyler Hochstetler of the Bluffton police department will bring Kato, the department’s K-9 to the center at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 1.
A new food tour takes place on Thursday, Aug. 9. The tour group leaves Bluffton at 7:45 a.m. and returns at 7:30 p.m. Contact the Center for complete details.
The Hancock Historical Society will give a free talk on the oil boom of the 1890s. The program is at 3 p.m., Monday, Aug. 13.
