The Bluffton boys and girls golf teams are ready to kick off their season next week. Senior Alivia Koenig will look to pickup where she left off after qualifying for the OHSAA District Tournament. The boys team will have a younger look as they look to replace now-graduated State Meet qualifier Aaron Belcher.
Girls Outlook:
Senior letterwinners Alivia Koenig, Kennedy Coughlan and Mara Minnig return to pace the Pirate squad. Koenig was medalist in eight matches her junior season including a season low score of 39. Underclassmen Olivia Spallinger, Allison Burghaze, Kailyn Goodman, Melina Meza and Jordyn Garmatter will look to contribute this season.
This is the fourth season of girls golf for Bluffton and the team is hopeful to advance to Districts and beyond. The ladies finished last season with a match record of 16-6.
Boys Outlook:
The Bluffton boys golf squad will be looking for a new low score man after Belcher had the top billing on lockdown for the past two seasons. Senior Jordan Siefer is a returning letterman and will captain the team. Juniors Drew Wilson, Carson Krupp, and Sebastian Baker are joined by freshmen Cole Koenig, Kenny Lovett, and Micah Minnig on the roster. The boys finished last season with a 15-4 match record including a 13-3 mark in Northwest Conference play.
Bluffton is coached by Nick Rackley.
