Nancy Barker was a Bluffton massage therapist
Nancy (Dunbar) Barker, 82, died on Friday, Aug. 17, 2018, at 9:29 a.m. at Vancrest of Ada.
She was born Dec. 26, 1935 in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Russell and Hester (Kiler) Dunbar. On July 27, 1963, she married Harold Duane Barker and he survives in Ada, Ohio.
Surviving are her son: James (Julie) Barker of Bellaire, Texas, and her daughter: Linda (Mike) Meyer of Defiance, Ohio; a sister, Susan (Lowman) McCarley of Walnut Creek, California; three grandchildren Austin and Tyler Meyer and Allie Barker.
Nancy was a physical education teacher at Allen East High School. She also taught at Middleport High School and at Cleveland Lutheran East. Nancy was a licensed Medical Massage Therapist and owned her own business in Bluffton for 20 years. She was a member of the American Massage Therapy Association. She was also a member of the Alger First United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.
Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 20, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, with Pastor Don Clinger officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada.
Friends may call two hours prior to the service, from 11 a.m. -1 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 20, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association.
