Grace Mennonite to host Enneagram workshop Oct. 6
Grace Mennonite Church will host a day-long Know Your Number Enneagram workshop taught by David Stamile on Saturday, Oct. 6.
The teaching is open to the public, and a light-lunch and snacks will be included with registration.
Christians have used the Enneagram for centuries as a tool for personal spiritual growth. It teaches nine basic personality types and how these personality types are expressed within our own life and in our relationship to others.
The Enneagram, which is an oral tradition, is different than contemporary personality tests, such as the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, DiSC or StrengthsFinder. Rather, it’s a fluid system that speaks to individuals’ motivations and helps them understand themselves in varying degrees of health and stress.
“The Enneagram is an essential resource for spiritual growth, building self awareness and increasing compassion within and beyond the household of Christian traditions in today’s world,” said Matthew Yoder, pastor at Grace Mennonite Church. “We are proud to make this resource available to everyone in Pandora, Bluffton and the surrounding communities.”
Stamile, Waco, Texas, holds an M.Div from Truett Seminary and is certified to teach the Enneagram through Life in The Trinity Ministry. LTM is a non-profit Christian ministry in Dallas founded by Rev. Joseph and Suzanne Stabile, a leading Enneagram teacher and author.
“I am excited that Grace Mennonite is offering the community the opportunity to discern which Enneagram type aligns with their motivations,” Stamile said. “I am certain those who attend will develop greater self-awareness. I am honored to lead this time of self-discovery.”
The event will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 6 at Grace Mennonite Church, 502 E. Main St., Pandora. Those interested in attending may register online by visiting gracepandora.org for a link to purchase a $15 ticket. Paper registration forms and promotional materials may be requested by emailing [email protected].
