University homecoming Oct. 13-14
Bluffton University will celebrate Homecoming Weekend Oct. 13 and 14.
A full slate of activities are planned on campus surrounding the big game against Manchester University. The Beavers take the field at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Salzman Stadium. Game tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for youth at the gate. Admission is free for children ages 4 and under.
New this year, Bluffton’s Athletics Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in Sommer Center. Michele Durand ’88 and Scott Bergman’06, both of Findlay, Ohio, will be the inductees. A buffet brunch will be served. Reservations can be made at [email protected].
A meet and greet will take place from 1-2 p.m. at the Emery Sears Athletic Complex. Alumni and friends are welcome to stop by and meet Bluffton’s new president, Dr. Jane Wood.
At the same time, a Kid Zone with inflatables will offer fun for children ages 5-10. J. Denny and Jenny Beaver, Bluffton’s mascots, will also be on hand.
Saturday’s activities will conclude with the President’s Banquet at 6 p.m. in Marbeck Center. The event honors milestones of professional achievement and service.
Michael Stulman ’08, a native of Findlay, Ohio, who is now living in Senegal, will be honored as Outstanding Young Alumnus in absentia. The Lifetime Service award will be given to Richard Ramseyer ’57 of Bluffton, Ohio. Dr. Jane Wood, president, will also recognize donors for achieving milestones in giving to Bluffton last year. Other events include:
• Art exhibit, “Reconstructions—Looking For Signs,” by John Sousa in the Grace Albrecht Gallery, Sauder Visual Arts Center, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
• Ultimate Frisbee, 4 p.m. Saturday, Musselman Library Green.
• Music concert featuring Bluffton’s instrumental ensembles, 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Yoder Recital Hall.
