Jo Souder was a music teacher and band director in Bluffton schools
Marian Jo Souder, 86, died Sept. 16, 2018, at Bluffton Hospital. Jo was born July 10, 1932 in Ft. Worth, Texas, to the late Marion and Nadine (Jones) Souder.
Jo was a music teacher/band director at Bluffton Schools and later at Blume Jr. High School in Wapakoneta. She was a principal oboist for the Lima Symphony Orchestra for 30 years. Jo enjoyed photography, wild horses and traveling.
Survivors include two childhood friends, Kitty Bryce of Arlington, Texas, Cynthia Ritche of Ft. Worth, Texas; two caregivers and friends, Karen Morris of Pandora, Annette Augsburger of Bluffton and numerous former students, colleagues and friends.
Jo was preceded in death by a half-brother, Hal Souder and lifelong friend, Lois Basinger.
Private burial will take place at the Reformed Mennonite Cemetery in Bluffton.
Memorial contributions may be made to Putnam County Home Care and Hospice or Bridge Hospice.
