Pandora United Methodist plans pilgrimage to Carey shrine
The Pandora United Methodist Church will conduct a half-day pilgrimage to the National Shrine and Minor Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation, Carey, on Saturday, Sept. 29.
The tour covers the history of the Shrine and the historical connections between the Roman Catholic tradition and Protestantism as well and the relationship to the United Methodist Church.
Persons interested in participating can to meet in Pandora at 108 E Washington St. to carpool to Carey where the tour will begin at 10 a.m. at the Shrine Park.
The day includes a tour of the Shrine Park, a visit to the original frame church, and a tour of the Shrine Church of Our Lady.
The group will have the opportunity to have lunch in the area. Participants should be able to return to Pandora by 3 p.m.
The pilgrimage is open to the public. There is no charge for the tour and participants are on their own for lunch expenses. Leave a message at: [email protected] or 419.384.3905 if you plan to attend.
