Police officer Hope Hannah award recipient
Bluffton police officer Hope Hannah was presented the Children Safety Award by the Lima-Allen County Safe Community Coalition-FAPA-FOP, according to Ryan Burkholder, police chief, who nominated her for the award.
The presentation was made during a Sept. 20 award luncheon at the Fraternal Order of Police Lima Lodge 21.
Hannah joined the Bluffton police department as a part-time officer in August 2007. In 2012 she moved to 30 hours per week and became full-time in 2014.

• EMS Award: Firefighter/EMT-P, Shawnee Township Fire Department
• Traffic Safety Award: Sgt. Steven Posada, Ohio State Highway Patrol
• Bike—Public Safety Award: Shelly Miller, Allen County Public Health
Engineer’s Award: City of Lima
• Special Recognition: Sgt. Rob Kohli and Shawnee Township Police Department
• Outstanding Citizen’s Award: Ben Anderson, State Farm Insurance
• Outstanding Program Award: SAAFE Initiative, Lima Police Department
• Outstanding Business Award: Able Towing
